Duty Free Shop airport | TAO | Qingdao Liuting
TAO | Qingdao Liuting
Duty Free in China is expanding fast and the Government permits airport shopping on landing in the arrivals area, but this airport does not yet have an arrival duty free store facility. In the departure lounge, both Tax Free and Duty Free stores are available for those travelling internationally.
Tax concessions are not usually available for domestic travellers, but the Chinese Government has been one of the first to change these globally accepted shopping rules, by opening the world's largest Duty Free store in Haitang Bay, Hainan Island, a popular tourist destination.
Chinese citizens are allowed to buy Tax Free goods in this store, even though it is located within China. In effect, the Chinese have introduced 'Domestic Duty Free Shopping' and they plan to extend this concept to other locations soon.
