European Charter Airline, in-flight duty free sales: Airlines such as Thomson Fly, Arkefly, Corsair, Jetairfly or TUIfly Nordic are known as a charter airline, because their primary function is to transport holidaymakers around the world.

Some of these carriers offer both functions, they carry passengers on tourist vacation packages, but also sell flight-only tickets for local or long-haul destinations. The holiday packages are normally the majority of the travellers.

These airlines have many routes within the European Union and some to non-EU member countries. Many charter airlines also fly to intercontinental destinations. Duty Free sales are not permitted for intra-EU travel or on domestic flights and airlines do not normally sell liquor, cigarettes or tobacco products on these EU routes. But, they do sell other products such as perfumes, cosmetics and gifts at very competitive prices, even though these goods are tax-paid.

On European flights to or from other (non-EU) countries and to intercontinental destinations, duty free and tax-free sales are permitted and a full selection of products will be available. Some of these charter airlines now allow you to pre-order online from the product selection and then arrange home or on board delivery for you. But, home delivery can only be made for Tax-paid goods, sold within the EU. The online in-flight catalogue or magazine will show full details for you, before you fly.

Airlines are increasing the range of products they sell onboard, such as rail/coach transfers, global cellfone sim cards, event and resort tickets, like Disney. Prices can often be cheaper than the airport, especially for the traditional goods, like alcohol or cigarettes.

The airlines are starting to use the seat back screen technology to display the brands they sell where you can see these shopping channels from home and order from your tablet or iPhone, before you board.

Click below for the airline duty free website, to review the prices of the products such as perfumes, beauty, gifts, spirits cigarettes and tobaccos. Some airlines now allow you to reserve goods and offers for direct delivery to your seat. If the airline does not have any on board sales or a pre-order catalogue, then we may direct you to an airport website instead.
