International Cruise Shipping Line, duty free shopping on board: This Company operate numerous cruise ships to many international destinations. Almost all cruise ships sail in international waters and if your routing includes a berth at different countries a full duty free service will be available on board as this is categorised as an international journey. The only exception will be cruises made by this Line directly between EU European countries as duty free sales are no permitted for intra-EU travellers. But, this is quite rare, because most EU cruises also stop at a non-EU port during their journey and this entitles the entire cruise to be duty free and tax-free for the passengers. A good example of this is in the Baltic Sea, where ships also berth at The Aland Islands which is classed as being outside the EU for tax reasons.

Likewise, if your ship is only cruising within the same country, this is classed as a domestic journey and duty free sales will not be available. But, domestic cruises are quite rare as most sailings visit various different countries during their voyage. Almost all cruise ships have extensive shopping facilities on board with a full range of products.

Some Operators restrict the sale of duty free liquors on board, but they will hold your purchases for you and then release them on disembarkation for you to take home. Cigarette, tobacco and Cigar smoking is now restricted on many ships, but you will be able to purchase these goods at duty free prices for your return home.

Many Cruise Ship Operators are yet to publish their on-line duty free catalogues and prices. As soon as their online pre-order facilities are available, we will update this page with shopping information.
